Grief Support Ministry St. Cecilia Grief Support Ministry provides support for those in the parish community who are grieving a loss – whether experiencing a death, divorce, chronic or terminal illness or other traumatic loss. This ministry facilitates an annual 8-week Grief Support Workshop, the annual Life Decisions Conference and a Fall Speakers Series. These programs all have, as their primary aim, to provide accurate, important, and timely information, from the perspective of Catholic teaching, on issues around end of life and grief and loss. Information, coupled with practical ideas, skills and tools, can infuse our experiences of loss with meaning. Combining the practical with the spiritual and the theological, more fully integrates loss into our everyday lives.

This ministry also trains Grief Support Visitors to visit the bereaved and to lead workshops and retreats. Persons interested in either grief support or in discerning a call to be a grief support visitor should contact the Grief Support Ministry Formation Committee. This committee meets approximately six times per year to plan and execute the annual Grief Support Ministry programs.
