ࡱ> :<97 bjbjUU "(7|7|l@@@@@@@T T$U u6@6@@K"@@B` :T,@@ ѐTP 4a0R==TT@@@@Parish Pastoral Council of St. Cecilia Church Meeting Minutes for Thursday, November 29, 2001 Present: Mike Palazzo, George Weivoda, Linda Conley, Chuck Hall, Carole Christensen, Sharon Meek, John Meek, Oswaldo Bernal, Donna Maduell Excused Father Scott Vandehey, Pastor, Father Joseph Betschart, P.V., Lou Ackerman, Vicke Hammes Absent: Donna Schuetze, David McBride, Bill Becker Guest: None Meeting began at 7:10pm with a prayer by George Weivoda. Minutes were reviewed and approved. REPORTS Chairmans Report: George started the meeting with a report on changes on how we will be doing our meetings in the future. He met with Father Scott and reviewed the existing council procedures and the following changes will be implemented: No more reports. They are time consuming and we want to look ahead on what we can do and not what has already passed. Reports will be handed out at our meetings but not given the floor unless new upcoming events or news is needed to be addressed. George would like to receive any reports 1 or 2 weeks ahead of our meetings. Sharon Meek asked if we the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) would be informed of any changes done in the church so if asked or we receive any calls we may be informed. Father will not be coming to every meeting. Once a quarter now or if it is an important matter he will come to deliver a report himself. Otherwise Father Scott will give George or Jim Cassinelli information and they will deliver it at our PPC meetings. E-mail was the choice of most everyone present to deliver all information we all need to receive. Please make sure George has your email addresses. This will become very important at keeping everyone abreast of current information. Sharon brought up the question to Carole if we (PPC) should be informed on what is covered at St. Cecilias staff meetings? If of importance to us Carole would let us know. Jim Cassinelli asked for a seven year PPC plan, by the end of June, which is the fiscal year-end for the parish. Carole asked if a staff member was still needed at the PPC meetings. Yes, they are the connection to us as being a staff member is more informed at the happenings in the parish office. Snacks back again? It was mentioned and everyone smiled at the idea. Nothing was put in place. Home Masses: Some work on this topic has been done on starting home masses. From the computer stand point the amount of time to pull this together is too much. As our computer is updated this may become more feasible. Hard document is our current system, but Michelle Hallett has offered to helpwith changes. This is still in the works. It was mentioned that PPC members could begin home masses now. New Business Ministry Sunday: Sharon reported on Ministry Sunday (formerly Celebration Sunday). This is coming up and six groups will begin this Sunday. The giving tree, poinsettias, and Donut Sunday will also be included on this day. It is scaled down and will be announced from the pulpit the first three masses. In January PPC will be manning a table. Sharon will check on the date. Conformation forth coming. Sharon also mentioned the giving tree and how we could make it a better success then last year. Many ideas were bounced around. It will be in the gym, same as last year. Oswaldo asked about Toy Sunday vs. the Giving tree. Parish Planning: George continued with a discussion on Parish Planning. The survey used last is still useful and pertinent to our needs with some small adjustments needed. With small changes we could still use it. This will be tabled for more information so we can continue this process. Parish Planning is in the beginning stages with some information coming via e-mail. Youth: Carole reported for Kathy Fedr. A lot of gatherings coming up. The youth will be helping with the mens club Christmas tree sale, coffee and donuts, and breakfast. A Moral Life Issues speaker was a recent guest talking on abortion, contraception, chastity, and cloning. Interesting evening for the youth and for all who attended. Disciples In Mission: Mike had the last meeting at St. Pius and it was a success. Signup will begin for Disciples In Mission at Sunday masses. There is alot of background work going on now. Committee chairs are working had and most of the positions are filled. Job descriptions and next meeting is being planned. Mike will email all involved in Disciples In Mission soon. Maybe the date of Thursday, December 13 on site was thought up. Conformation forth coming by Mike. School Advisory Council: Donna Maduell handed out copies of the last meeting. She advised after reviewing the minutes if anyone had questions to call her. By-laws: Sharon will email changes made in our by-laws fro all of us to review. Call her if you have any input or questions. Survey: Talked about size and format as the next step. George will send this out via email before the next meeting. Auction Basket: Donna Maduell was asked if the Parish Council was still doing an auction basket for the school auction. Everyone seemed interested in continuing with this tradition. Donna will organize this via email before the next meeting. Meeting adjourned at 9:55pm with prayer.
